Kiyonobu Military Centre

This Asian-style castle by Henry F. is so beautifully put together that I can’t stop looking at it. At first glance, this build appears clean and simple, but further reflection reveals tons of amazing details like the wooden lattice-style steps with multiple landings, the iron-barred windows, and the amazing texture Henry built into the rock formations. Henry cleverly designed this build with multiple levels, each one stepped up a little higher than the previous level. This results in a terrific photo composition that shows all the details of the build in one clear photo.

Petra’s Al Khazneh in LEGO

One of my dearest memories of the summer in 1994 that I spent working on an archaeological dig in Jordan was a weekend trip to Petra. We arrived from Amman late in the evening, but several of my fellow archaeology students couldn’t wait until morning to see the amazing structures carved from the sandstone 2000 years ago, so we snuck across wadi after wadi, avoiding the main paths. Once past the guard posts, we walked through the narrow gorge known as al-Siq — pitch black at night — until the passage opened in front of us to reveal Al Kazhneh, lit only by starlight.

ArzLan built his LEGO version of the Treasury for the Hong Kong Animation Festival, and features Indiana Jones in his Last Crusade visit to this UNESCO Heritage site.

Yellow is a hard color to use in realistic buildings in my opinion, but Flickr user georgivar obviously had no trouble doing that. Added with the white brick corners and second story balconies, this building makes for a really nice European style structure. Great job on this one!

What I enjoy most about this is the European look to it. The horizontal lines cutting across the facade makes for a simple, but realistic structure. The arched windows also make for a very appealing look. Good work, Profound Whatever!

A terrific building by Flickr member Jared Chan features another clothing outlet in his long line of clothing outlets. As always, his details are top notch and offer that “solid” look so well known with the Cafe Corner line of sets from LEGO. Keep up the great buildings!
