Too Cool for School

Pool Party

Los Angeles, California- (BTT) For kids and teens in a hot weather climate, nothing is more refreshing on a hot summer’s day than a swimming pool. Not only is there no salt to get in your eyes, it’s private, can be accessed all the time, and you can swim AND snack, all at the same time. With this great pool deck scene, Katie (eilonwy77) has managed to fit in all of the feelings of summer into a beautiful little package. The curved wall, pool raft, multi-level deck, and great trees all come together to make this vibrant scene one of note

Farm House

LUGPol members always crank out something terrific. I had a difficult time figuring out what the main picture for this model should be. Every photo is expertly taken and each offers its own unique view with an insurmountable amount of detail hiding behind every corner. This farm house (mansion?) is just spectacular. The red gambrel roof and how the entire structure is sort of “sunken” into the ground points to the fact that this could have been a barn at one point (at least that’s how I see it), but the additions such as the porch and garage make for an incredible design.
And this is just the outside….so take a look at all the interior shots too!
A truly incredible model. A massive amount of pieces and time went into this, and a massive model was born. Awesome job here!

Prairie Style House

Very intriguing build. The wall along the sidewalk really catches the eye, as do the red and tan conflicting with each other. However, I think my favorite part is the glass-balcony walk out, great idea there. Keep up the great work!

Village

There is a thing about European architecture that sets it apart from others. Perhaps it is the squished buildings lining the streets, or the variances in design, but whatever it is, Flickr user psiaki sure managed to capture the look and feel of a small European village. Better yet, this isn’t even “completed” yet! We all look forward to seeing where this one goes. Please get this project rolling, Mike!

Corner Office Building

I love the simple, art deco feel to this, intentional or not. The colors match terrifically, and I’m really liking that cornice detailing up top. Hopefully this will spur builders into some skyscraper construction!

Lego Modular State Capital

A little bit overdue, but this State Capital by lgorlando is just magnificent (and I apologize for overlooking it.) The detailing in architecture and well-placed color use makes for a fantastic creation. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m willing to bet this could jump start anybody’s building desire. Keep up the well built creations!

19th Century Office Tower

Now this is what I’m talking about. MOCpages user Jonas James writes this:

This design incorporates the use of light and dark contrasting to emphasize form and conceals roof structures with a decorative crowning parapet.

And it works perfectly. Great building, can’t wait to see more!

New Camera and New Building

New Camera
The white building is under construction, but I’m glad with how the new camera turned out. I really like the lighting that I caught on this one. I might change the white to a more rare color, but I still have to think that one over. Hopefully I can get this building completed within the month or so, so stay tuned!
