Show some backbone!

I was going to delay posting this to leave the 5th birthday post at the top of the page for longer but decided that we are here because we highlight cool LEGO models. Marco Tagliaferri (Tagl) demonstrates a lovely addition to the popular moonbase standard in the form of this transit spine standard. It feels so real.

And he has instructions to boot.

Symmetry in asymmetry

Ryan H. (L.D.M.) has achieved an intriguing form in his Læther (a contraction of “luminiferous” and “æther”) spaceship that combines both the beauty of symmetry and the interestingness of asymmetry. At first glance, one sees a unique shape dominated by random protrusions from the fuselage. A second look will reveal the surprising symmetry of the individual components. Genius!

This ship really bugs me

Or maybe it’s my own bad pun that bothers me. I do really like this ship, by -infomaniac-, though. It does a great job of capturing the shape of an insect in a space ship. The placement of the cockpit at the center is great concealment, it took me awhile to even spot it. I’m also a fan of the generally armored look, especially the use of minifig bases.
